The Breguet Alize was a French all-metal low-wing patrol and anti-submarine anti-submarine aircraft (ZOP) aircraft. The drive was provided by a single engine Rolls-Royce Dart RDa.21 with a power of 2100 hp. The flight of the prototype took place in 1956, and serial production continued in 1957-1962, ending with the production of 89 machines. The aircraft were decommissioned by the end of 2000. Breguet Alize was created in response to the demand from the French Navy Aviation (French Aviation Navale) for a new on-board plane intended for patrol missions and ZOP capable of operating in all weather conditions. It turned out to be a very successful machine, which served until the end of the Cold War on the carriers "Arromanches", "Foch" and "Clemenceau". Typical armament of Alize aircraft were torpedoes, depth charges and AS-12 rockets. Aircraft of this type also served on the Indian carrier "Vikrant". The quality of the design is evidenced by the fact that Breguet Alize planes remained in the line for almost 40 years!
