The Lotus 97T is a British Formula 1 car that made its circuit debut at the 1985 Brazilian Grand Prix and has competed in F1 races only that one year. Its designers were Gerard Ducarouge and Martin Ogilvie. The Lotus 97T was powered by a single, 6-cylinder Renault Gordini EF15B engine with a displacement of 1.5 liters and 800HP! The Lotus 97T was developed to replace another Lotus car: the 95T. The new model, however, used many elements of its predecessor - first of all, it was powered by the same engine and still used a monocoque body. He differed from him on several other levels. First of all, carbon fiber was used in the construction of its body, which positively influenced its durability and reduced the weight of this element. It also improved the braking and steering system, as well as the suspension. Without a doubt, in the 1985 season it was one of the most carefully designed F1 cars with considerable potential and good performance. The most famous drivers behind this car were Ellio de Angelis and especially Ayrton Senna. In total, Lotus 97T took part in 16 F1 races, of which he won three of them.
