The Renault 4CV (other names: Renault 4/4 or Quintette) is a French passenger car that was first presented to the public in 1946. Its serial production started in 1947 and lasted until 1961. About 1.1 million copies of this model were produced during it. Production took place in several cities, but the most important plants producing this model were in Billancourt, France. The Renault 4CV was one of the first series-produced passenger cars in France after World War II. His design was created during this armed conflict, and was later put into production to replace the Juvaquatre model. The inspiration for the creation of the Renault 4CV was VW Betele (Beetle), a car "for the people" - cheap to manufacture, use and providing relatively decent travel comfort. The drive was a 0.8-liter 21 HP engine, mated to a 3-speed gearbox. The car was offered only in the fastback body type.
