LEXUS IS 350

The Lexus IS is a Japanese middle class passenger car produced by Toyota Motor Corporation, which was first presented to the public in 1998 during the Geneva Motor Show. Its serial production started in the same year and is still going on. In its course, the model was or is being manufactured in three cities in Japan: Tahara, Kanegasaki and Miyawaka. The IS model was developed and put into production to expand Lexus' offering and increase its share of the mid-range car market in the US and Western Europe. So far, there are three generations of this model. The first one was produced in the years 1998-2005 and consisted mainly of the IS200 and IS300 versions, which differed from each other mainly in engines with 155 HP and 214 HP. The first generation offered relatively rich basic equipment. In the period 2005-2013, the second generation of the IS model appeared, with a clearly changed styling and an extended offer of additional equipment. There are also new versions: IS250C and IS350C (convertible versions), IS-F (coupe version) and IS220. Finally, from 2013, the third generation of the IS model is produced, which has a slightly changed styling and can be powered by new engines. A version with a diesel-electric hybrid drive is also available.
