The Talbot-Lago T26C is a French passenger racing car that was presented to the public for the first time in 1948. The car was powered by a single 6-cylinder in-line engine with a capacity of 4.9 liters and 280 hp. The maximum speed of the car reached 270 km / h. The T26C model was a far-reaching development of the Talbot-Lago sports cars, which had achieved numerous racing successes in France and Western Europe shortly before the outbreak of World War II. The car, not necessarily duplicated many design solutions from its predecessors (especially the drive train), but received a completely new engine with significantly more power. Finally, a successful racing car was created, which in 1949 won the Grand Prix of Belgium and France, and in 1950 (in a modernized version) the famous 24-hour Le Mans race. In 1952 and 1953 the car also triumphed in the Australian Grand Prix.
