Renault Megane is a French compact class passenger car that was first presented to the public in 1995 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Its serial production started in the same year and is still going on. Production took place and takes place in several cities around the world, but the most important plants producing this model were or are located in the cities of Douai in France and Palencia in Spain. The Renault Megane was developed and put into production to replace the model 19 in the group's offer. The new vehicle showed many similarities to its predecessor - for example, it had quite similar styling - but differed in several important areas. First of all, it had a modified steering, body and floor plate. It also ensured greater travel comfort and offered slightly richer basic and additional equipment. Also the range of offered engines - already in the first generation of the car - has changed, and some of them have been deeply modified. What's more, the Renault Megane Scenic quickly entered production, which was not comparable to any version of the 19 model. Four generations of Renault Megane appeared in the production process, the last of which was presented in 2015 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The basic version of the Megane was offered in several body styles, such as: a 3- or 5-door hatchback, a 2-door convertible or a 2-door coupe. A wide range of engines, usually 4-cylinder with a capacity of 1.4 to 2.0 liters, served as the drive.
