BM7226 M1000 TRAILER (FOR HET)

The M1000 is a modern American multi-wheeled car semi-trailer designed for the transport of heavy combat vehicles - especially tanks. The weight of the semi-trailer is approx. 22,800 kg, and its maximum, practical load capacity reaches approx. 63,500 kg, although theoretically the semi-trailer can transport up to 80 tons, but with a clear reduction of the maximum speed. The length of the M1000 semi-trailer is 15.8 meters, with the length of the cargo space 10.58 meters. The M1000 semi-trailer was developed by Southwest Mobile Systems (now DRS Technologies) for the needs of the American armed forces, which in the mid-1980s began the search for a wheeled semi-trailer dedicated to road transport of the new M1 and M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tanks. The M1000 semi-trailer has as many as 40 wheels and its suspension is hydropneumatic. The M1000 is primarily dedicated to work with the Oshkosh M1070 tractor unit in any version. It is worth adding that the semi-trailer can be transported by air by C-5 Galaxy and C-17 Globemaster III planes.
