RG-31 MK3 US ARMY

The RG-31 Nyala is a modern South African armored vehicle, produced primarily for export. The truck, depending on the operator, is powered by various engines, including: Daimler-Benz OM 352A with 123 HP, Cummins QSB with 275 HP or Iveco Hector F4AE0681D. The armament of the car is usually a single 7.62 mm machine gun. The RG-31 Nyala is manufactured by Land Systems OMC, which is part of the BAE Systems concern. The armor of the vehicle is made of steel plates, which provide protection against small arms and artillery fragments. The bottom of the fuselage was shaped in the shape of the letter "V" which significantly increases the chances of survival of the crew at the time of detonation of a mine or the so-called fugasa. The landing force has from 7 to 9 soldiers, depending on the version. Landing troops can also fire from the inside of the vehicle through special holes on the sides of the hull. The RG-31 Nyala is used not only by the South African armed forces, but also by many foreign operators, including: Spain, Indonesia, Canada, Colombia, Mali and the United States. The vehicle was used in many conflicts, including the operation in Afghanistan or the operation in Iraq in 2003.
