SC1000 (German: Sprengbombe Cylindrisch 1000) is a German air bomb with a weight of 1002 and 1090 kilograms from the Second World War. In Luftwaffe units they were often called colloquially "Hermann", in reference to the overweight commander of this type of armed forces Hermann Goring. The SC1000 was a general-purpose aerospace bomb used by the Luftwaffe on nearly all fronts of World War II. In the course of production, three main versions of this bomb were created: C, L and L2. The first one was able to carry 620 kg of explosive charge, the second (L version) - 530 kg, and the last (L2) 600 kg. The bombs used both impact fuses (eg Type 25B) and time fuses (Type Z17). Very often the bombs of this type were painted blue. SC1000 type bombs could be dropped from such planes as, for example, Junkers Ju-88, Heinkel He-111 or Dornier Do-17.
