PRAGA AV

Praga AV was a Czechoslovak and later German military light transport and staff car from the interwar period and World War II. The first prototypes of the vehicle were created in the mid-1930s, and serial production started in 1936 - about 400 vehicles of this type were created during this process. The drive was provided by a single engine with 670 HP and a capacity of 3.5 liters. The maximum speed on the road was 92 km / h. The AV model was developed for the Czechoslovak armed forces by CKD Praga. The car was characterized by the use of a three-axle chassis and a 6x4 drive, which positively influenced off-road driving. The Praga AV vehicle turned out to be a highly successful design and was appreciated not only by the Czechoslovak army, but also exported to Bulgaria, Poland and Romania. After the occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1939, a large number of these cars were taken over by the Wehrmacht and successfully used in subsequent campaigns in Europe. It is worth adding that the very successful Praga RV truck was also developed on the chassis of this car.
