Austin Armored Car is a British armored car from the First World War and the interwar period, which was used on a relatively large scale in Russia (Russian Austin). The car was 4.9 meters long and 2.03 meters wide. In the British version, the drive was provided by a single 50 HP Austin 4-cylinder engine, and the maximum speed was up to 56 km / h. In 1916, in the still tsarist Russian army, a decision was made to build armored cars based on the chassis of analogous British Austin Mark vehicles. III. The chassis used were imported from Great Britain, while the hulls were made by the Putiłowski Works in St. Petersburg. It was assumed that all cars (60 cars) would be built by the summer of 1917, but the outbreak of the February Revolution effectively thwarted these plans. Serial production started only in 1918 and was carried out in Zakłady Iżorskie. It can be estimated that about 30 cars of this type were built in the years 1918-1920. The cars produced at the Izhora Works were used primarily during the Russian Civil War.
