M STRV M/37 (PRAGA AH-IV-S)

The Stridsvagn M / 37 (Strv. M / 37 for short) is a Swedish tankette, also classified as a light tank, from the interwar period, World War II and the post-war period. The vehicle entered service with the Swedish army in 1938. Its weight was about 4.5 tons, with a length of about 3.4 meters and a width of about 1.9 meters. The drive was provided by a single Volvo FC-CKD engine with 85 HP. In the basic version, the armament of the car consisted of two 8 mm machine guns. The Stridsvagn M / 37 was essentially a modernized and licensed version of the Czechoslovak CKD AH-IV car. Compared to its predecessor, it was slightly larger, heavier, but had slightly better armor and a completely different and much more powerful drive unit, thanks to which the car had better maneuverability and performance. The vehicle commander's turret has also been added to the turret of the tank. The Stridsvagn M / 37 was built at the Junger plant in the city Oskarshamn in southern Sweden. In total, 48 vehicles of this type were built. It is assumed that vehicles of this type remained in the line until 1953!
