The KW-8 was a Soviet tank from the Second World War. Mass production was carried out in the first period of this conflict and resulted in the creation of about 230 copies of this car. The vehicle was powered by a single W-2K engine with a power of 600 hp. It was armed with an ATO-41 or ATO-42 flamethrower, a 45mm cannon and two or three DT 7.62mm machine guns. When the tanks of the KW series (KW-1 and KW-2) were introduced into service, work on their development versions was started. One of such versions was the KW-8, which was largely based on the KW-1 tank. The main difference was the main armament, as the KW-8 was armed with the ATO-41 flamethrower and the wz. 1932 caliber 45 mm, but the barrel was redesigned so that it resembled the barrel of a 76.2 mm cannon from the outside. In the course of serial production, a version of the KW-8s was also created, which was based on the chassis and the hull of the KW-1s tank and was armed with a more modern flamethrower (ATO-42). Also, two prototype KW-8m tanks were created, armed with two flamethrowers, but this version did not enter mass production.
