The YPR-765 is an American and Dutch-made tracked infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) used primarily by the Dutch armed forces during the Cold War and modern times. The length of the vehicle was 5.26 meters, 2.82 meters wide and about 2.6 meters overall height. The drive was provided by a single Detroit Diesel Allison 6V-53T engine with a capacity of 267 HP. The armament of the vehicle consisted of a 25mm KBA-B02 cannon and a single 7.62mm FN MAG machine gun. The YPR-765 vehicle was developed by the FMC Corporation as a far-reaching modification of the M113 armored personnel carrier, originally for the US Army. However, when the US Army decided to introduce the M2 / M3 Bradley into service, the vehicle was offered on foreign markets, where it gained considerable interest, and the main user of the YPR-765 vehicles turned out to be the Dutch armed forces, which ordered a total of nearly 2,100 vehicles of this type. , of which 815 were produced under license in the Netherlands. The first cars of this type entered service in 1975 and - after modernization - they were still in service during the mission in Afghanistan at the beginning of the 21st century! It is worth adding that in the Dutch army there were many modernizations of the basic version (YPR-765), including the following versions: YPR-765 pri.50 (version armed only with a 12.7 mm machine gun), YPR-765 prrdr (a version that functions as a mobile battlefield radar) or the YPR-765 prmr (a mobile mortar armed with the MO-120-RT).
