75 mm field gun wz. 1897 is a French 75 mm towed cannon, used in the Polish Army in the interwar period and at the beginning of World War II. The weight of the weapon in the combat position was 1,190 kilograms, with the total length (in the combat position) of 4.5 meters. The maximum range was about 11,200 meters, with a rate of fire of up to 12 rounds per minute. The presented cannon is a version of the famous "seventy-five" produced in the Schneider plant for the needs of the French army, the same one that was one of the main cannons of the French army during the Great War. The first guns of this type reached the Polish Army together with General Haller's Blue Army, and another one was received from France in the early 1920s. Another 300 were purchased in 1924, and in the same year more copies were obtained from Romania. 75 mm field gun wz. 1897 in the interwar period was the basic infantry support department, which was most often towed by horse traction. A number of these guns in 1937 were adapted to be towed in motor traction, by replacing wooden wheels with metal ones with tires. C7P or PZInż vehicles were used as artillery tractors. W-Z cake. 34. It is assumed that at the time of the beginning of the September campaign, there were approximately 1,370 guns of this type in the Polish Army.
