The Kfz.14 is a German light armored car from the interwar period and World War II. The vehicle entered service in 1932. In total, about 40 vehicles of this type were built. The drive was provided by a single 6-cylinder Stöewer engine with a capacity of 2.9 liters and power up to 60 HP. The car was 4.2 meters long and 1.7 meters wide. The car did not have a permanent armament. In the early 1930s, the German armed forces (still known as the Reichswer) sought to acquire a new, light, reconnaissance armored car. After a relatively short period of research and development, the Kfz.13 vehicle was accepted into service in 1932. On the basis of this car, the Kfz.14 was created, which was a specialized radio communication vehicle (German: Funkkraftwagen). Compared to the Kfz.13, the new vehicle did not have any weapons, but received an extensive radio equipment and a frame antenna. Its crew, on the other hand, was increased from 2 to 3 people. Cars of this type took part in the fighting in Poland (1939) and France (1940), but they were already obsolete then. It is assumed that by the winter of 1941 they were withdrawn from service for the Sd.Kfz 221/222 and Sd.Kfz. 231.
