Sd.Kfz.263 Panzerfunkwagen was a German armored car and radio communication from the interwar period and World War II. The first prototypes of the vehicle were created in the mid-1930s, and serial production continued in the period 1937-1943, ending with the production of about 210 copies of this car. The vehicle was powered by a single engine with a power of up to 180 HP. The armament consisted of a single 7.92 mm MG34 machine gun. The Sd.Kfz.263 Panzerfunkwagen was a development of the Sd.Kfz.232 car. The new vehicle adapted many elements of its predecessor, mainly the chassis and many elements of the fuselage. However, a profound change took place in the bodywork, as the turret was removed and the crew compartment was significantly enlarged and adapted to the work of one more crew member. The car could also take more efficient radio equipment and used a railing antenna very often. The only armament was a single machine gun with a fairly limited supply of ammunition. The Sd.Kfz.263 Panzerfunkwagen vehicles were used primarily in the reconnaissance and communication units of the German armored divisions.
