The Morris-Commercial CS8 was a British light truck from the interwar period and World War II. The first prototypes of the vehicle were created in 1934, and shortly thereafter, mass production began, during which approximately 21,000 vehicles of this type were produced. The car was 4.23 meters long and 1.98 meters wide. The drive was provided by a single engine with a power of 60 HP. The maximum speed on the road was up to 65 km / h. The CS8 was developed for the British Army as a light transport vehicle with a load capacity of up to 750 kilograms. To keep costs down, its manufacturer Morris-Commercial Cars based its design on a civilian C8 truck. However, the vehicle turned out to be successful and was put into service relatively quickly. During World War II, several development versions of this vehicle were created, including: Morris C4 (version with a different engine), Morris C9 (long version) or Morris C8, the popular Quad (artillery tractor on Morris CS8 chassis). The Morris CS8 car was also used to build various types of bodies: from a tanker to an ambulance. Cars of this type were used in the British armed forces and in the armies of the British Commonwealth of Nations.
