Serial production continued until 1972. The GAZ-69 was powered by a single R4 M-20 engine with 55 hp and a capacity of 2.1 liters. It also had a 3-speed manual gearbox and all-wheel drive (4x4). The GAZ-69 off-road vehicle was created as the successor to the GAZ-67. In the basic version, it could carry 8 people, including two in the front seats, or 500 kg of cargo. The original version had a two-door body, but in 1951 a four-door body (GAZ-69A) was developed. The GAZ-69 was characterized by very good off-road characteristics, high reliability and simple design. These elements made it the basic, light off-road vehicle of the Soviet Army and the Warsaw Pact countries. A self-propelled anti-tank missile launcher called 2P26 was also developed on the GAZ-69 chassis. The GAZ-69 off-road vehicle It was replaced in the 1970s by the UAZ-469. The weapon was to be used primarily to destroy lightly armored enemy vehicles, but also fortified places, and to provide fire support to one's own infantry. The BZK vz.59 gun, due to its relatively low weight, was used mainly by airborne troops. The weapon was also exported to other Warsaw Pact countries. Over time, the weapon was replaced in line with anti-tank guided missiles.
