Skoda 640 Superb is a Czechoslovak luxury passenger car from the interwar period, World War II and the post-war period. The first prototypes of the car appeared in 1934, but serial production continued in 1934-1943 and 1946-1949 at the Mlada Boleslav plant. The Skoda 640 Superb was initially developed as a refined and much more luxurious version of the Skoda 640 middle class car. The car used as power units with a capacity of 2.5-2.9 liters and 55-85 HP. However, with the occupation of Czechoslovakia by Germany in 1938-1939, the Skoda 640 Superb changed its purpose, as there were versions intended from the very beginning as staff cars for German officers. The first was the Skoda 912 Superb, powered by a 96 HP engine and produced between 1939 and 1940. Shortly thereafter, the Skoda 952 Superb entered production, powered by a 6-cylinder engine producing 85 HP. It was produced in the years 1941-1943. Interestingly, it was produced only in a version with a canvas roof. The all-wheel drive model 956, produced in a small series, was an extension of this version.
