The M5 Maresal was a Romanian self-propelled gun, also classified as a tank destroyer, from the Second World War. The first prototypes of the vehicle were built in 1942-1943, and production continued in 1943-1944. All in all, by various estimates, from 7 to 17 vehicles of this type were built along with prototypes. The car was powered by a 120 HP engine. It was armed with a 75mm DT-UDR single gun and a 7.92mm ZB-53 machine gun. The M5 Maresal was designed in factories Comandamentul Trupelor Motomecanizate in connection with the need to provide the Romanian army with effective weapons designed to destroy Soviet tanks and self-propelled guns on the Eastern Front.
