The Japanese gun turret (Model A) for 127 mm / L50 naval guns was first used on the revolutionary Fubuki destroyers in the 1920s (the first 10 ships of this class to be exact). It was a turret that housed two 127 mm guns, allowing for horizontal rotation of 6-12 degrees per second, as well as the ability to independently raise each of the guns. It allowed to raise the cannons vertically by 40 degrees. It provided the crew with cover against bad weather and artillery fragments. It was also gas-tight. It is worth adding that it was the first tower of this type installed on destroyers in the history of maritime construction in the 20th century! Soon after Model A, the Model B turret appeared, which allowed the cannons to be raised vertically by 75 degrees - it was mounted on other Fubuki-class destroyers and Akatsuki-class units. The frontal armor has also been significantly reduced (from 9-12 mm to 3.2 mm). The C-type turret was already mounted on the last two Hatsuharu-class destroyers and Kagero-class ships, with the gun lift reduced vertically to 55 degrees. Interestingly, however, the D model of the presented turret also appeared (it was mounted on Yugumo-class units and on the Shimakaze destroyer), where the gun was raised vertically at 75 degrees again.
