Admirality type or Scott class is a type of British destroyer, and more specifically the leaders of the destroyer flotilla from both world wars and the interwar period. Units of this type (with the exception of two ships) were launched and entered service in the Royal Navy in 1917-1918. The total length of this type of ship at the time of launching was 98.3 meters and a width of 9.68 meters. Full displacement reached approx. 2050 tons, and the maximum speed reached approx. 36-37 knots. The armament at the time of the launch consisted of: five single 120 mm guns, a single 76 mm anti-aircraft gun and two triple 533 mm torpedo tubes. The Scott class comprised a total of 8 ships launched, out of a total of 10 ordered. The vast majority of them were constructed at the Scammell Laird and Company shipyard. Design work on these ships began in 1916 as part of the War Emergency Program. From the very beginning, it was assumed that they would be the leaders of the destroyer flotillas, which resulted in relatively strong artillery armaments (as at the end of the Great War), as well as with extensive command and control rooms. They were also well equipped with communication equipment. A large part of them survived in the Royal Navy until the outbreak of World War II, during which they performed escort tasks in the Atlantic. One of them (HMS Stuart) was sold to Australia in 1938.
