The keel for this unit was laid in 1914, it was launched in August 1914, and commissioned in January 1915. The length of the ship at the time of launching was 62.6 m, width 6.2 m, and the actual full displacement - approx. 420 tons. The maximum speed was up to 27 knots. The deck armament consisted of two 52 mm guns and two 450 mm torpedo tubes. The SMS V106 was built at the Sttetiner shipyard Maschinenbau AG Vulcan in Szczecin. It was originally intended for service in the Dutch Navy, but was confiscated by the German authorities shortly after the outbreak of World War I. Interestingly, it was originally supposed to be called Z-2 and, together with its three sister ships, would form one combat team in the Dutch Navy. Participation SMS V106 in combat actions during the Great War was limited and was quickly redirected to school and training tasks. After the end of World War I, it was sent to Brazil, but was quickly sold for scrap, and in 1920 it was scrapped.
