The length of the ship was 60.3 meters and a width of 6.3 meters. Standard displacement was up to 330 tons and maximum speed - up to 26-27 knots. The on-board armament, at the time of launch, consisted of two 88 mm guns, a 450 mm torpedo launcher and a sea mine drop-off point. The A86 was built at the AG Vulcan shipyard in Szczecin. The unit was created as one of the ships belonging to the A / III torpedo boat type, the design of which was developed in 1916. The type A / III ships were a development of the A type torpedo boats, and in relation to them, they had greater displacement, and were also longer and wider. The on-board artillery armament was also strengthened and adapted to the placement of sea mines. Overall, it was a successful type of ship with a decent top speed and decent seaworthiness. Type A / III units operated mainly in the Baltic Sea. Due to the late launching date, the A86 torpedo boat did not play any major role in World War I, and after it ended, it was first in Great Britain, and in 1920 it was transferred to the French Marine Nationale. However, it was sold for scrap shortly after 1920.
