Smyrni was a Greek (and previously Austro-Hungarian) destroyer from the interwar period. The keel was laid under this vessel in 1905, the launch took place in April 1906, and it was accepted for service in the Austro-Hungarian fleet in September 1906. The full displacement of the ship at the time of launching was about 420 tons, its length - 68.4 meters, and the width - 6.25 meters. The maximum speed of the vessel did not exceed 28 knots. The ship's deck armament at the time of launching consisted of one 66 mm gun, seven 47 mm guns, and two 450 mm torpedo tubes. Smyrni was originally named SMS Ulan and belonged to the Huszar-class destroyers. Units of this class were created in connection with the desire to modernize the Austro-Hungarian fleet at the beginning of the 20th century. Specialists from the British shipping company Yarrow took part in their design. Interestingly, units of this class showed some similarities to the Japanese Ikazuchi units - also designed by Yarrow. One of the ships of this class - SMS Ulan - was built at the Trieste Shipyard and took part in World War I. Luckily it survived its end and was handed over to Greece as part of war reparations, where from 1920 it served under the name of Smyrni. The destroyer remained in service until 1928, and a few years later it was sold for scrap.
