HMS Warrior was a British armored ship, also classified as an armored sail-steam frigate from the second half of the 19th century. The keel for this unit was laid in 1859, the launch took place in 1860, and entry into service in the Royal Navy - in 1861. The length of the ship was 128 meters and a width of 17.8 meters. The displacement was around 9,200 tons and the maximum speed was around 14 knots. The deck armament, at the time of launch, consisted of 26 206 mm guns, 10 178 mm guns and 4 121 mm guns. The HMS Warrior was the first naval unit to be built entirely of iron. The British shipyard Thames Iron Works in London was responsible for its construction. It was created as a British response to the 1859 French armored frigate Gloire. When it entered service, HMS Warrior was the largest, best armed and armored warship in the world! It was the first time that it brought together such technical achievements of the mid-19th century as reel loaded threaded guns, steam engines, iron construction and similar armor. In addition, the ship had propellers, which was not a rule at the time. Interestingly, the HMS Warrior was not used in combat, and in 1875 it was withdrawn from service due to the incredibly rapid development of naval technology in the second half of the 19th century. At present, the unit functions as a museum ship.
