The keel for the vessel was laid in 1958, the launch took place in February 1959, and the entry into service in the Polish Navy took place in July 1959. The total length of the ship at the time of launching was 59 m, width 8.7 m, and the actual full displacement - approx. 610 tons. The maximum speed of the ship was 15-16 knots. The on-board armament of the unit at the time of launching included: 4 37mm cannons, 4 25mm cannons or 4 14.5mm machine guns. The equipment of the vessel also included two trawls: contact and acoustic, and a single magnetic trawl. ORP Mors was built under the Soviet license of the Type 254 units, which, however, were modernized in our country (project 254M). Work on the Type 254 ships began in the USSR from 1943, but their serial production began shortly after the end of World War II - in 1947. Poland acquired a license to produce the Type 254 shortly thereafter. The type 254K and 254M units replaced the units dating back to the Second World War. ORP Mors was launched at the Shipyard. The Paris Commune in Gdynia (currently: Gdynia Shipyard SA). The unit initially operated from the Hel base and was part of the Minesweeper Squadron of the Water Defense Brigade Region of the Main Base. Later, however, it was transferred to Świnoujście and became part of the 12th Base Minesweeper Squadron. The unit was decommissioned in 1989.
