SMS Kaiser Karl VI was an Austro-Hungarian armored cruiser, which was laid down in 1896, launched in 1898, and entered service in 1900. The vessel was about 119 meters long with a width of about 17.3 meters. Full displacement did not exceed 7,000 tons and the maximum speed was up to 21 knots. The ship's armament consisted of: 2 240 mm guns, 8 150 mm guns and 2 66 mm guns. The SMS Kaiser Karl VI armored cruiser was built at the Stabilimento Tecnico Triestino shipyard to be complemented by the Maria Theresia (full name: Kaiserin und Königin Maria Theresia). Compared to its predecessor, it was clearly better armored and armed, as well as had better performance and slightly better seaworthiness. After entering service, SMS Kaiser Karl VI served alternately in the line and as a training ship. In 1910, he was sent on a cruise to South America, which turned out to be the last transatlantic expedition in the history of the Austro-Hungarian navy. The ship spent much of the Great War at the Cattaro base. After World War I, it was handed over to the British, and in 1920 it was sold for scrap.
