The total length of this type of ship is 57.2 meters, the overall width is 10.5 meters, and the full displacement is about 580 tons. The maximum speed is 32-33 knots. The deck armament of ships of this class includes: a single 76.2 mm gun, one 30 mm AK-630 set, four 406 mm torpedo tubes, and a single RBU-1200 launcher. The Pauk-class Corvettes were designed to replace the Poti-class units. Compared to its predecessors, it received much richer electronic equipment, also having a significantly smaller crew and much more extensive anti-aircraft defense capabilities. The Pauk class units also received a depth sonar, which was then rare on this class of vessels. Interestingly, the hull of units of this type is almost identical to the Tarantul-class ships. A variant called the Pauk II class appeared in the course of production, which differs from the basic version (Pauk I), including: 533 mm torpedo launchers, removal of gravity depth bomb launchers and the use of new radar systems. Pauk-class units are used by, among others, the following fleets: Russia, Ukraine, India, Vietnam and Cuba.The Pauk-class corvettes were built as small ZOP ships for coastal defense of the USSR waters. A great deal of experience gained in the construction of units of the Stenka, Pietja and Grisza classes was used here. In the construction of the Pauk type ships, a hull was used, designed for the Tarantul missile corvettes. Probably the first unit of this class was launched in 1977. This class is used in the Baltic and Pacific. A number of ships were used by the KGB. 32 units of this class were built for the USSR fleet, one for Bulgaria and Cuba and four for India.
