Download Mirage Hobby PDF catalogueS / Y Opty is a Polish seagoing keel yacht with a total length of 9.85 m, a width of 2.75 m and a sail area of 60 m2. The vessel was ready for its first voyage in late 1966. The design of the S / Y Opta is derived from the "Konik Morski" yacht, which was built at the Gdynia Yacht Shipyard in the interwar period. The main constructor of the S / Y Opta was Leon Tumiłowicz, and the unit was built for a Polish yacht sailor, writer and journalist - Leonid Teliga. It went down in history thanks to the achievement of its owner, who circumnavigated the globe alone from January 1967 to April 30, 1969. Thus, Leonid Teliga became the first Pole to circumnavigate the Earth alone on a wooden yacht! After this voyage, S / Y Opty was used by the Gdynia Maritime University and later handed over to the Maritime Museum in Gdańsk. Currently, the unit is exhibited at the Sea Wreck Conservation Center in Tczew.
