The DSh is essentially a Soviet, self-propelled armored draisine from the interwar period and World War II. It served as a railroad, armored command and communication point in the Soviet railroad troops under the Red Army. The presented rail vehicle was developed in the early 1930s and entered production shortly after. It was characterized by relatively thin armor, 4 to 8 millimeters thick, providing cover only against small arms fire. The only armament of the vehicle were two machine guns: Maxim and DT 7.62 mm. Communication was mainly provided by the 71-TK-1 radio with a rod antenna. Despite the fact that probably only 10 DSh draisines were built, they took part in the course of World War II, mainly in the battles with Germany in 1941-1945. Perhaps they were also used in the Far East in the war with Japan in 1938-1939 or in 1945.
