The D-3 armored draisine is a self-propelled, armored rail vehicle of Soviet production from the interwar period and World War II. The drive was provided by a single combustion engine with a capacity of 93 HP. The armament consisted of two 45mm cannons placed in two separate turrets with coupled DT machine guns, and four 7.62mm Maxim machine guns placed in the hull of the draisine. The crew consisted of 11 to 16 people. The D-3 armored draisine was developed in the early 1930s for the use of the Red Army. When constructing it, efforts were made to use as many of the already existing and proven elements as possible, such as the towers of the T-26 tank or the D-35 gearbox. The armor of the presented rail vehicle was from 10 to 16 millimeters, and the commander's position was located in its central part. The D-3 armored draisine was used primarily on the borders of the USSR and could operate either independently as a patrol vehicle or as part of armored trains. Rail vehicles of this type took part in the initial phase of the German-Soviet war (1941-1945).
