16011 GIRL (STALKER)

The term "stalker" appeared in popular culture for the first time thanks to the Russian fantasy writers Arkady and Borys Strugacki, who in 1972 published the novel "Picnic on the edge of the road". The plot of this novel takes place on Earth after the aliens visit it and leave it. The latter did not leave any more detailed data, and the places where they landed were called Landing Zones. People who illegally penetrate these zones and who acquire various, often very valuable artifacts there, are the stalkers. The main character of the novel is Red Shoehart. The novel was screened by Andrei Tarkowski himself in 1979, and the film based on it was called "Stalker". The novel by the Strugacki brothers also inspired the creation of a series of computer games by GSC Game World, the first of which was "STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl" was presented in 2007. It is worth adding that the action of the games from the "STALKER" series takes place in the so-called Zonie, a fictional area around the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. In the game, due to radioactive radiation, dangerous anomalies and mutants began to appear in the zone, with which the player will have to fight. Let us add that so far several dozen books have been created on the basis of this series of games.
