During World War II, several dozen divisions were formed as part of the British Army, and at the end of the war they served in its ranks about 2.9 million people. In this one of the most important armies of World War II, the broadly understood internal combustion vehicles, including armored cars (armored vehicles), played a significant role. In the British Army, they were primarily light and medium vehicles intended for reconnaissance and reconnaissance. They were used by numerous units in infantry and armored divisions, especially reconnaissance battalions. In the case of infantry units, they were subordinated to the Reconnaissance Corps (Recce Corps for short), which was formed in 1941. Wheeled vehicles weighing from 3 to 10 tons dominated, and their armament was usually the Bren light machine gun or the BESA heavy machine gun. Over time, the use of 2-pounder and 6-pounder cannons was also introduced. Examples of British Army armored and reconnaissance cars from 1939-1945 were: AEC Armored Car, Humber Armored Car or Dingo Scout Car.
