Yakushi-ji is one of the most famous Japanese Buddhist temples, the construction of which was completed around 680 AD (Asuka period in the history of Japan). At present, the building is located in the city of Nara in the Nara Prefecture on the island of Honshu. Currently, the Yakushi-ji temple complex is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Interestingly, the temple complex was plagued by fires and the vast majority of it burned down in the 16th century. However, in the 1970s, the reconstruction and reconstruction of the temple began, which led to an almost complete reconstruction of the entire building. One of the most important elements of this complex is the so-called Eastern Pagoda (Japanese To-To or Toh-toh), which in its present form was erected around 730 AD. The pagoda is 34 meters high and is considered one of the most beautiful structures of this type in the Land of the Rising Sun. It also represents the so-called Hakuho period in Japanese architecture. Renovation works on this facility were carried out in the years 1898-1900 and again in 2012.
