The Hitachi Astaco Neo is a modern, specialized construction and engineering machine with a tracked chassis. The total weight of the vehicle in working order is 15.9 tons. The drive is provided by a single Isuzu engine and 94 HP. The total length of the main arm is approximately 7.3 meters, and the secondary arm is approximately 5.6 meters. The maximum load of the first one is nearly 1.6 tons, and the second one - 450 kilograms. Hitachi concern (actually: Share Company Hitachi Manufacturing Plant ) was founded in 1910 and operates to this day, specializing in such industries as, for example, advanced computer systems, high-speed railways, automotive electronics and construction machinery. The presented Hitachi Astaco Neo machine is an example of the company's operation in the latter area. Design work on this machine started in 2003, and the first prototype was ready two years later. Shortly thereafter, the machine entered serial production and the market. The main purpose of Hitachi Astaco Neo is to repair the damage caused by natural disasters. Thus, when designing this machine, the highest reliability and durability of the structure, as well as the possibility of simultaneous operation of both of its arms, were taken into account. It is worth adding that the Hitachi Astaco Neo machine was used to repair the damage caused by the earthquake and tsunami wave in Tohoku Prefecture in 2011.
