PLA ZTL-11 105MM AMPHIBIUOS ASSAULT VEHICLE

The ZTL-11 is a modern Chinese wheeled fire support vehicle. The drive is provided by a single Deutz BF6M1015C diesel engine with a capacity of 440 HP, which allows the vehicle to accelerate to approx. 100 km / h. The armament of the vehicle consisted of a single 105mm rifled cannon and two 7.62mm and 12.7mm machine guns. ZTL-11 was developed and put into production based on the chassis of the eight-wheeled infantry carrier (IFV) Type 08 (another designation: ZBL-08) by the Chinese arms concern Norinco. Its main task is to provide direct fire support to its own infantry in an attack, destroy the enemy's permanent resistance points, as well as destroy their lightly armored vehicles. The ZTL-11 provides its crew with protection against small arms and artillery shell fragments, but - probably - it can be easily eliminated from combat by ATGM fire. The vehicle is characterized by high mobility in the field, it also has the ability to overcome water obstacles without special preparation.
