The ZBL-09 Snow Leopard is a modern Chinese wheeled armored personnel carrier. The drive is provided by a single motor Deutz BF6M1015C with 440 hp. The first prototypes of the vehicle were probably created at the beginning of the 21st century, and the car entered serial production at the earliest in 2007-2008. He was admitted to the line probably in 2009. The armament consists of a 30 mm automatic cannon, a single 7.62 mm machine gun and 4 HJ-73 anti-tank guided missile launchers. The ZBL-09 was developed as a successor to the Type 92 APC and IFV vehicles and differs from its predecessors mainly in the fact that it has an engine with a much higher maximum power and that the structure is based on an eight-wheeled chassis. The ZBL-09 has armor which provides the crew and the landing party with protection against small-caliber fire with a caliber of up to 7.62 mm on the sides and up to 14.5 mm in the front of the vehicle. It is possible to put on additional armor with ceramic elements, which increases the front cover of the vehicle and makes it resistant to fire from weapons with a caliber of 20-25 mm. The basic version has the ability to overcome water obstacles without any special preparation. The PLL-09 self-propelled mortar was developed based on the ZBL-09 chassis. The ZBL-09 vehicle (under the designation VN-1) was exported to Venezuela.
