ŁADA NIVA POLICJA

The Lada Niva is a Soviet / Russian off-road vehicle produced by the company WAZ (later Auto-Waz), which was first presented to the public in 1977. Its serial production started in the same year and is still going on. The model was manufactured and is still being produced in the city of Togliatti in Russia. The Lada Niva is recognized as the first off-road vehicle of the WAZ company, developed independently by its engineers. Many elements are based on solutions obtained under license from the Fiat concern, but the body and the drive train are the result of native technological thought. The first generation of cars (model 2121) was powered by engines with a capacity of 1.5-1.7 liters and was offered only with a 3-door body. This generation was famous for its great off-road properties, reliability and solidity of the whole structure and - unfortunately - high fuel consumption. It was used by many uniformed services of the USSR and the Russian Federation. In 1995, a 5-door version appeared (model 2131). In 2002, the result of cooperation between the WAZ company and the General Motors concern appeared, i.e. a car called Chevrolet Niva (model 2123), which has a completely new body design, much richer basic and additional equipment and a new gearbox. The car is offered primarily on the Russian and Asian markets.
