The stadium in Munich (official name: Allianz Arena) is a football stadium in Germany in the federal state of Bavaria, owned by the Bayern Munich football club. The facility was erected in 2003-2005 and its opening took place in May 2005. The construction cost of the facility was 340 million euros. A maximum of just over 75,000 people can enter the stadium. The uniqueness of the Allianz Arena is not only due to the fact that it is one of the largest football stadiums in Germany. The work of outstanding Swiss architects - J. Herzog and P. de Meuron - is characterized by fantastic visibility from the stands, it also has two huge screens with an area of 100 m2 each. The most unique structural elements, however, are the stand roof and the facade, which are made of almost 3,000 foil cushions filled with non-stop air and which can be illuminated in white, red or blue. The annual operating cost of this technical solution alone is estimated at around 0.5-0.6 million euros! It is worth adding that Allianz Arena was one of the stadiums where the 2006 World Cup was held.
