Ferrari 126 is an Italian Formula 1 car that was presented in the 1981 season and competed in F1 races only in the years 1981-1984. Its designers were Mauro Forghieri, Antonio Tomaini and Harley Postlethwaite. The Ferrari 126 - in the CK model - was powered by a single Ferrari Type 021/031 6-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1.5 liters. The Ferrari 126 was developed to replace the very successful Ferrari 312T car. Compared to its predecessor, it differed primarily in a completely different power unit, which, although it had a significantly smaller cylinder capacity, was smaller, lighter, more compact, and thus allowed to reduce the size of the entire vehicle, its weight and improve traction on the track. In the period 1981-1984, several types of Ferrari 126 cars were introduced on the F1 track - including the CK, C2, C2B, C3 and C4 models. Ferrari 126 vehicles - in various versions - took part in 62 Grand Prix races - in 10 of which they won. The most famous drivers who drove cars of this type were: Gilles Villeneuve, Mario Andretti and Rene Arnoux.
