Type T-3 is the designation of the type of Prussian, or actually German, steam locomotives from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. Locomotives of this type were produced from the beginning of the 1880s until 1910. In total, about 2,000 locomotives of this type were built during the production. The service weight of a single locomotive was 32.3 tons, and the design speed was 40 km / h. The T-3 steam locomotives were developed at the Henschel und Sohn plant in Kassel. The steam locomotive was primarily intended for the service of light and medium freight trains, mainly on local railway lines. Not infrequently, however, steam locomotives of this type also set off on national lines. Production was also started quite quickly in other plants, which entailed modernization and development of the structure - especially when it comes to the external appearance. The main recipients of the T-3 steam locomotive were state railway lines, but also private carriers and industrial plants. After 1918, a lot of locomotives of this type were divided among the victorious Entente countries, and about 30 of them went to Poland.
