The PZL M26 Iskierka is a modern training and training aircraft with a metal-composite structure in the low wing configuration, with a classic landing gear - retractable in flight. The drive is provided by a single motor Textron-Lycoming AEIO-540-L1B5D with a power of 220 kW. The plane was first flown in 1986 and serial production started shortly after. The machine does not have any on-board armament. The PZL M26 Iskierka was developed based on many components and elements of the PZL M20 Mewa aircraft. From the latter construction, for example, the undercarriage, wings and tail were taken. A tandem cabin was also used. The machine is dedicated to training both military (initial training) and civilian (basic training and aerobatics) pilots. The machine is offered primarily on foreign markets, which is due to the fact that the PZL-130 Orlik aircraft was taken for Polish customers. The main recipient of the PZL M26 Iskierki was the United States, where in 1994 20 machines of this type were delivered.
