4TP (another designation: PZInż. 140) was a prototype Polish light tank from the interwar period and the early stage of World War II. The only prototype of the vehicle was created in 1937, but the tank never entered mass production. The tank was powered by a PZInż carburetor engine. 425 with 95hp. Ultimately, its armament was to be a single 20mm wz.38FK MG gun and a single wz. 30 caliber 7.92 mm. Tank 4TP was developed on the initiative of engineer Edward Habich - head of the Department of Studies at PZInż. The new tank was to be a reconnaissance tank, with as much maneuverability as possible, which would replace the TK and TKS tankettes. Until May 1939, the car underwent the last field tests, which showed high mechanical reliability and good off-road properties of the new tank. However, the command of the Polish Army considered the design not promising and decided not to implement the vehicle into mass production. It is worth adding that a prototype of the floating vehicle PZInż.130 was also developed on the basis of the 4TP tank.
