ORP Kondor was originally a Norwegian and later a Polish diesel-electric fighter submarine, which entered service in the Norwegian Navy in 1964, and in the Polish - in 2004. The vessel was approximately 47.3 meters long and 4.7 meters wide. The underwater displacement did not exceed 600 tons, and the maximum underwater speed was around 17-18 knots. The armament consisted of eight 533 mm torpedo tubes. ORP Kondor was originally named HNoMS Kunna (S-319) and belonged to class 207 (or Kobben). This type of submarine was developed in Germany by Ingenieurkontor Lubeck (IKL), and the production was carried out by the Nordseewerke (NSWE) shipyard in Emden. Units of this type were developed primarily for the needs of the Norwegian Navy, which in the second half of the 1950s sought to obtain new submarines, intended to operate in, especially coastal waters, and which would replace units from World War II. - especially the Type VIIC. At the same time, the new ships, although small, offered considerable operational and offensive capabilities, including the ability to submerge at considerable depths thanks to the use of HY-80 steel. HNoMS Kunna (S-319) entered service in 1964 and sailed under the Norwegian flag until 2001. In the same year, it was handed over to the Polish Navy, in which the ship changed its name to ORP Kondor. In 2008-2009, the unit took part in NATO's Active Endeavor operation in the Mediterranean. She was decommissioned in 2017.
