Sultan Hasanuddin is a modern Indonesian corvette belonging to the class of units called Sigma. The keel for this unit was laid in 2005, the launch took place in 2006, and entry into service - in November 2007. The length of the ship is 90.7 meters and the width is 13.02 meters. The displacement is around 1,700 tons and the maximum speed is up to 27-28 knots. The on-board armament, at the time of the launch, consisted of: a single 76mm OTO Melara cannon, two 20mm cannons, 2 quadruple MBDA Mistral Tetral rocket launchers and 2 triple torpedo tubes. The Sultan Hasanuddin Corvette belongs to the Sigma class of vessels, i.e. a type developed by the Dutch Damen Group and offered to foreign customers. Units of this type are characterized by an extensive modular structure and can be adapted to the recipient's requirements. In the course of production, so far, two main sub-types have been created: Sigma 9113 and Sigma 10514. Sultan Hasanuddin belongs to the first sub-type. It is worth adding that the Indonesian fleet currently operates six Sigma-type units, the last of which entered service in 2018.
