Walter Junior is a light aircraft engine that was developed and produced in the Czechoslovakian Walter Aircraft Engines in the 1930s. This engine, due to its low weight and good performance, was also licensed in Poland by Państwowe Zakłady Inżynierii (PZInż) under the name PZInż Junior. The license version, like the original one, was an in-line unit with four inverted cylinders. The engine was air-cooled and its weight was only 148 kilograms. Maximum power at 2,100 rpm reached 120 hp. This engine was produced in the period 1934-1939 and served as the basic power unit for RWD-8 aircraft. It is worth adding that until 1939 production was carried out in the PZInż plants, while in that year it was transferred to PZL WS-2 in Rzeszów at the COP. It is estimated that in Poland, approximately 600 aircraft engines of this type were manufactured in both plants.
