Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Florian and St. Catherine in Gołębie (Lublin Province) was founded by the Grand Chancellor of the Crown, Jerzy Ossoliński. The construction of the church probably took place in the years 1626-1634. However, the roots of the parish church in Gołębia go back to the beginning of the 14th century. In addition to the temple, which has survived to modern times, a Loreto house was also built, as it is vividly modeled on a similar building from the Santa Casa Sanctuary in Loreto. The temple in Gołębie is eclectic through and through and uses stylistic and architectural solutions typical for the Italian and Dutch schools, as well as for the late Renaissance (mannerism) and baroque. Undoubtedly, the facade of the temple is rather baroque, as is the overall single-nave structure referring to the Jesuit church of Il Gesu in Rome. The building also does not have a transept. The architect of this original church is unknown to this day, and discussions about it continue. The temple is now a Roman Catholic parish church.
