ROSYJSKA KORWETA RAKIETOWA PROJEKT 21631 BUJAN-M

Bujan M (also known as Project 21631) is the name of a class of Russian modern rocket corvettes. Units of this type have been entered into service since 2014. The displacement of this class of the ship is approx. 950 tons, its length - 75 meters, and width - 11 meters. The maximum speed does not exceed 26-27 knots. The on-board armament of a ship of this class includes: a single 100 mm gun, two AK-630-M sets or two 4-tube VLS launchers for the Kalibr-NK or P-800 Onyks missiles. Bujan M-class units were created as a development of the Bujan-type units (Project 21630), and the main changes concerned the expansion of units and - above all - the addition of much more extensive missile weapons. It is assumed that the main task of these units is to operate in coastal waters and purely defensive tasks. On the other hand, the Bujan M-class corvettes are capable of firing projectiles from the Kalibr family, with a range of up to 1,500 km and capable of carrying small nuclear warheads. By June 2018, six units of this type entered active service. In 2015, three of this class launched their Kalibr missiles (with conventional warheads) against targets in Syria.
